Travzu Privacy Policy

SCOPE

OVERVIEW

DATA COLLECTED FROM YOU

When the user uses Travzu, we may collect the following information from the user:

Registration Information

  1. When the user signs up for an account with Travzu on the login page, the user can only sign in via Google through which we capture the user’s first name, last name and email id.
  1. We require the user to provide an email address or their google account login in order to use Travzu so that we can contact the user about their account, and so that the user can access his data from any device that he may use.
  1. We will also maintain a record of the information provided to us when using customer support services.
  1. Certain features may be restricted, unavailable or unusable if the user chooses not to provide certain information. For example, The user would not be able to mark his current location in the itinerary if the user chooses not to share location access on his device.

User-Provided Content

  1. We also collect and store the information the user provides to us when using our Service to share expenses, payments, and communicate with others.
  1. This data includes, for example, expenses, budgeting, itinerary, todo-list assigned, notes, media links etc.
  1. Users are solely responsible for the information of the group provided by them and any consequential claims arising amongst the group members.

User patterns

  1. We collect information about how the users may use and interact with Travzu such as the types of expenses added, the memos or reminders that may be put up, the locations tagged etc, the actions taken, navigation on the app, and the time, frequency and duration of the user’s activities.
  1. For example, we log when and how often the user adds descriptions to a bill of expense and may use that information to improve our service or suggest new features we offer.

Device and Location Information

  1. When the user downloads or uses Travzu, we may receive information about his device and location, which allows us to provide increased account security and cause regulatory compliance.
  1. It also allows us to provide location-based services such as search results, itinerary mapping, targeted advertising, and other personalized content.
  1. We also collect information about the user's interaction with Travzu including, but not limited to, his computer browser type, pages visited, advertisements clicked on, average time spent on our Sites / Application, his IP address, unique identifiers of user’s device, manufacturer and model of his mobile device, geolocation, preferred language, the operating system version and app version.
  1. We will also collect information about the pages that the user visits within our sites and other actions that he may take while visiting our application/website.

Information related to Third-Party Integrations

  1. Travzu may also collect information about the user from third parties to help improve our service, or for security and support reasons. If the user chooses to use some of the optional integrations of the third-party services that we offer we may also collect information about a user from those services.

Google accounts

  1. As part of using Travzu, the user may be presented with the option to link one or more parts of his Google account to the user’s Travzu account.
  1. Once the user authorizes Travzu to use his Google Account to login to Travzu, their first name, last name and email id will be shared with Travzu automatically.
  1. These details will be stored by Travzu and will generally be treated as if the user himself had manually provided that data to Travzu under this privacy policy.

Contests and Promotions

  1. From time to time, the user may be offered an opportunity to participate in a contest, survey, or other voluntary promotion. We may collect contact or marketing information in connection with one of these promotions.

Other Information

  1. We may request or receive other information such as feedback, questions, comments, suggestions, or ideas to provide the user with other benefits or to improve upon the Service.

HOW WE USE THE DATA COLLECTED

  1. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY OF THE USER’S PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANY THIRD PARTY EXCEPT AS OUTLINED IN THIS POLICY UNLESS OTHERWISE WARRANTED

To Provide the Travzu Service

  1. We process user’s information to enable us to provide the Service, support him in case of issues, and to secure our service. Some instances of usage of user’s data to provide the services, include:
  1. To detect and protect against errors, fraud, or other criminal activity.
  1. We may use users’ information for internal security purposes. We may use identifying information to monitor suspicious activity.
  1. To verify the user’s identity in the event he contacts us for assistance.
  1. To analyze Site usage, perform market research, project planning, product development, troubleshooting problems, analysis of user behaviour, internal marketing and promotions, or other efforts to improve our service quality.
  1. To pre-fill form fields or store preferences for user convenience.
  1. To alert the user to software compatibility issues and to improve our web design and functionality
  1. To communicate with the user. For example, we will email the user when we release new features, have important news, and when the user has a notification generated by activity (including a monthly summary). All of these emails are optional and can be set by going into the user’s Account Settings. Some emails, such as updates to our Privacy Policy, information about the user’s account, password resets, or other security issues are not optional.
  1. To enforce our Terms of Service.

With Third Parties, Affiliates, Subsidiaries and Service Providers

  1. We employ third-party agents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and/or service providers to enable them to help support and improve our services. For example, maintenance services, database management, cloud hosting, web and mobile analytics, receipt scanning services and OCR.
  1. Third parties acting on our behalf that are given access to the user’s personal information are contractually obligated to abide by our privacy regulations and policies and are not allowed to use the information for any other purposes.
  1. We may share the user’s personal information with other third parties if the same is warranted for any valid reason.

Non-Identifiable Information with Third Parties

  1. We may at any time, disclose information that does not personally identify the user in any other manner that we deem appropriate, including to third parties for their research, marketing, and promotional purposes and to help us determine how we can improve our Services.
  1. We will also disclose non-personal information to our service providers and other third parties about how our users collectively use the Sites.
  1. The data we share with these mentioned parties will not include any personal information that identifies the user, but only as masked data regarding usage of our Services by him or his group members.

For Legal Matters

  1. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to share or disclose the user’s personal information with law enforcement, government officials, law and audit firms as notified by governmental agencies and other third parties:
    1. to respond to summons, court orders, or legal process;
    1. in order to investigate, prevent, defend against, or take other action regarding violations of our Terms of Service, illegal activities, suspected fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the legal rights or physical safety of any person or the security of our network, application, websites, or Services;
    1. to respond to claims that any posting or other content violates the rights of third parties;
    1. in an emergency, to protect the health and safety of our Site's users or the general public; or
    1. as otherwise required by any applicable law.

Transfer of Ownership of Business

  1. If our Company or our assets and rights are acquired by another company, or in the event of a merger, amalgamation, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, reorganization, or liquidation, we may transfer, sell, or assign to third parties, information concerning the user’s relationship with us, including, without limitation, personal information that the user provides and other information concerning the user’s relationship with us.

Such third parties will assume responsibility for the personal information collected by us in connection with our business operations or through our Application / Sites and such third parties will assume the rights and obligations regarding such information as described in this Privacy Statement and according to applicable regulations.

SECURITY OF DATA COLLECTED

  1. We use technical and administrative security measures including but not limited to encryption techniques and authentication procedures, among others, to maintain the security of the user’s online usage of our application/sites.
  1. However, it is to be understood that while we try our best to safeguard the user’s personal information once we receive it, no transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
  1. Users can help protect the privacy of their own information by using encryption and other techniques to prevent unauthorized interception of their personal information.
  1. Users are responsible for the security of their information when using unencrypted, public or otherwise unsecured networks.
  1. We may contact the user regarding any breach of the security, confidentiality, or integrity of his unencrypted electronically stored personal information to him via email or conspicuous posting on our Site in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, insofar as consistent with (i) the legitimate needs of law enforcement or (ii) any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the data system.
  1. We do not and will not, at any time, request the user’s credit card secured information, his account ID, login password, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication.
  1. Users are to not provide any such sensitive information via email or telephone, and avoid a very common identity and data theft practice known as “Phishing”.

COOKIES AND ONLINE TRACKING

  1. We use tracking technologies such as cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to record the user’s preferences, track the use of Travzu and exposure to our online advertisements. We may also use these technologies to monitor traffic, improve Travzu, and make it easier to use and more relevant.

  1. We partner with third-party advertising companies who also use these tracking tools to provide advertisements on our Application / Websites or other websites. These third parties may use these technologies to collect information about the user when they use our services. They may collect information about the user’s online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may also use persistent identifiers to track their Internet usage across other websites in their networks beyond the Websites. They may use this information to provide the user with interest-based advertising or other targeted content.
  1. While we do not knowingly provide these entities with information that personally identifies the user, it is possible that such third parties may, with sufficient data from other sources, be able to personally identify the user, unknown to us.
  1. We also use cookies to allow the user to enter a particular password less frequently during a session of using the application / website.
  1. Some content or applications on our Sites, including advertisements, are served by unaffiliated third parties. We do not control these third parties tracking technologies or how they may be used. If the user has any questions about an advertisement, he should contact the responsible advertiser directly.

DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT AND DATA RETENTION

Deleting your account

  1. The user may choose to close his account at any time from the Account Settings page.

Data Retention

  1. In accordance with and as permitted by applicable law and regulations, we will retain the user’s information as long as necessary to serve him, to maintain his account for as long as the account is active, or as otherwise needed to operate our business.
  1. We may also retain personal information to comply with law, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms of Service, and as permitted by applicable law.
  1. If the user would like to fully delete all his account and information in it, we will use commercially reasonable time and effort to remove his account and his personal information from our services so long as we do not have any legal reason or obligation to retain the record. It may take up to 90 days for clearing such information from our servers.
  1. When the user changes or deletes personal information, or closes his account from the Settings page, expenses, notes, reminders, locations, links involving him (either that he has shared or that have been shared with him) and his name may remain visible to people with whom they have been shared as part of their records.

MODIFICATIONS

  1. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically as decided by the Company. Changes are effective immediately upon posting of the revised Policy.
  1. The date last revised appears at the top of this Policy.
